Professor of Agricultural Economics and an Extension Economist for the
Texas Cooperative Extension at Texas A&M University. He directs the rural
policy program within the Economic Development Program Unit of the Extension
Service, which provides educational programs and materials on rural development
policy issues to rural leaders and government officials and the organizations
they represent at the local, state and federal levels. Dr. Fisher has served
on the faculty at Cornell University, Oregon State University and Michigan
State University, and worked in industry and government as well. He has
advised many state task forces and legislative committees, and frequently
speaks before state and national organizations concerned with rural policy issues.
